Leeds FOE stall – UK Green Film Festival “Bikes Vs. Cars”

BIKES_VS_CARS_3When: Sunday 10th May – 3.00pm to 6.00pm

Where: Hyde Park Picture House, 73 Brudenell Road, Leeds, LS6 1JD

What: We are holding a stall at the UK Green Film Festival (UKGFF) screenings at the Hyde Park Picture House. The film being shown on Sunday is “Bikes vs. Cars”

BIKES VS CARS is a new film project from BANANAS!* and Big Boys Gone Bananas!* director Fredrik Gertten which seeks to depict a global crisis that we all deep down know we need to talk about: Climate, earth’s resources, cities where the entire surface is consumed by the car. An ever-growing, dirty, noisy chaos of traffic. In BIKES VS. CARS we meet activists and thinkers who are fighting for better cities through a shift in transport policies and who refuse to stop riding despite the increasing number of casualties.

We will using the stall to promote Leeds Friends of the Earth’s current campaigns and talk to the public about the upcoming Climate Conference in Paris in December this year. We will also be providing information about other FOE campaigns on the stall (e.g. Fracking, Run on Sun), in order to show the breadth of work that FOE does.

If you would like to help out on the stall (No previous experience necessary!), please email us: leedsfoegroup@gmail.com
